Williamson County Special Education District (WCSED) has been dedicated to serving students with individualized needs in Williamson County since 1969.  Our highly trained professional staff serves the needs of children with disabilities ages 3 through 21 with a full continuum of services.  WCSED is a centralized special education cooperative that provides all special education programming and an array of related services to the 5 county school districts:  Johnston City CUSD #1, Marion CUSD #2, Crab Orchard CUSD #3, Herrin CUSD #4, and Carterville CUSD #5.  

The mission of the Williamson County Special Education District is to share responsibility in the public school setting for the development of academic and social emotional competence in order for all students to become positive and productive community members.
