Williamson County Special Education District provides a continuum of educational services for students with disabilities who reside within the five member districts in Williamson County.
Once a student is identified as needing specialized services, an Individualized Educational Plan is developed by the IEP team consisting of the parent, regular and special education staff. Based on the needs of the student, specialized services and participation in general education classes are determined.
Appropriate accommodations and modifications are established that allow each student to participate as much as possible in general education programs. Besides receiving specialized services that address students with learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, speech language impairments, emotional disabilities, developmental delays, autism, hearing, physical, and visual impairments, students may also benefit from such related services as occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech language therapy, audiological services, nursing services, and social work or psychological services.
